10 Indian Movies to Watch

Not everyone loves Indian movies. In fact, it would probably be accurate to say that Indian movies have a rather niche fan base outside India. While the rest of the world are producing no-nonsense thrillers, brief and relatable romance, fantasy films with breathtaking visuals, and science fiction with ‘out of this world’ imaginations, Indian movies, at least many of them, stuck to family drama, singing and dancing, and unrealistic portrayal of melodramatic romanticism. There are, however, a number of Indian films that have relatable scripts, phenomenal direction, gripping climaxes, and brilliant acting performances. Here are 10 Indian Movies to watch for you, even if you are a Hollywood Movie fan.

10 Indian Movies that You Should Not Miss

We tried to make a comprehensive list of Indian Movies that you will like. The list includes thriller, romance, adventure, travel, comedy, sports and mystery. There are movies from the recent times, and movies from about 20 years back. While you can pick the order of watching the movies, we are confident that you will like every film from this list. Here are our 10 Indian movies to watch.

10. Badla (Mystery, Thriller, IMDb 7.8/10)

Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu, Badla (meaning ‘Revenge’) is a 2019 thriller. It has the perfect mix of a ‘keeping you at the edge of your seat’ storyline and some fine acting performances by the two lead actors. The plot revolves around the alleged murder of Naina’s (Pannu) lover, for which Naina herself is the lead accused. She hires a prestigious lawyer Badal Gupta (Bachchan) to defend her. The string holding the storyline together is the conversation between Badal and Naina that unfolds the chilling events of the alleged crime. It has a minute similarity with Billy Wilder’s ‘Witness for the Prosecution (1957). Which is, the audience will continue to struggle to decide what to believe till the ultimate climax.

9. Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Adventure, Heartwarming, IMDb 8.1/10)

Indian films that have a plot relating to Pakistan tend to show Pakistani characters playing the negative roles. But Bajrangi Bhaijaan has a storyline that depicts the acts of ‘cross-border’ kindness and empathy beautifully. So much so that it leaves the audience with a touching and rewarding feeling at the end of the movie.
